Due to continued success and new Framework awards, this company are expanding their Innovation, Design & Solutions (IDS) team and seeking a Principal EICA Design Engineer to join our Southampton office.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Principal EICA Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of projects within sectors including:\n✔ Water Treatment\n✔ Water Distribution & Storage\n✔ Wastewater Recycling\n✔ Desalination\n✔ Flood Defence\n\nYou will be involved in all project phases, from feasibility studies to detailed design and construction support, working closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Design Leadership – Manage the design of EICA systems across multiple water industry projects\n Health & Safety – Promote a safety-first culture and develop design risk assessments\n Project Coordination – Interpret client requirements and coordinate site condition surveys\n Technical Design Development – Produce key electrical and control & automation design\n\nDeliverables, including:\n\n * MCC specifications/datasheets\n\n * Power distribution system modelling (EOM)\n\n * Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Block Cable Diagrams (BCDs), Connection Diagrams\n\n * Load schedules, cable schedules, instrument schedules\n\n * Process control philosophies & User Requirement Specifications (URS)\n Vendor Management – Review and integrate vendor data into designs\n Site Support – Provide technical support during installation and commissioning\n Innovation & Excellence – Drive technical innovation, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to new design methodologies\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n✔ BTEC/HNC/HND/BEng qualification in EICA Engineering or equivalent experience\n✔ Proven experience in multi-discipline engineering projects\n✔ Background in the Water Industry ()\n✔ Strong communication and leadership skills\n\nBenefits:\n\nThe company are committed to career development, technical excellence, and innovation.
