Salary: From £45,628– depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:
\n
- \n
- Developing and managing requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system or product and/or across a system of systems, platform or programme
- Understanding the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and supporting the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
- Producing documentation required to support the design review process, including: diagrams; technical specifications; supporting calculations; design evidence and justifications
- Reviewing relevant supplier documentation and ensuring it is captured and recorded appropriately
- Supporting the development of estimates for the scope of work and resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development and project planning activities for various systems

Your skills and experiences:
\n
Essential
\n
- \n
- Provide technical oversight for functional design for C&I solution for complex propulsion, mechanical and electrical systems, including deriving the functional design from Piping & Instrumentation diagrams
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/ Maths/ Science)
- Experience in reviewing the C&I design for a complex system ensuring it meets a wide range of requirements, such as functional, defence standards, industrial standards, etc.
- Experience with managing non-functional requirements (i.e. EMC, shock, etc.) meeting industrial compliance
- Experience of authoring and/or reviewing design documents, such as I/O schedules, functional design specification, functional chronicle, interface control document, etc.

Desirable

- Legacy understanding of submarine design programmes and the key design deliverables within this
- Understanding of control system architecture and communication protocols (i.e. RS-485, PROFIBUS)

The Platform Complex Systems team:
\n
You will be working as a part of the very dynamic, currently expanding team that deals with 27 complex systems, providing the C&I strategy and governance for the whole boat. The team works closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including peers in other work streams, programmes, suppliers and MOD. You will have an opportunity to undertake ample training and develop your skills towards personal growth.
