Innovate and implement effective operating practices to drive continuous improvement in operating performance. Collaborate with Equinix and external stakeholders to establish robust operating policies, optimize the selection of efficient power delivery systems, and ensure Equinix's operating requirements are met. ResponsibilitiesFoster proactive engagement with regional operations to develop global technical programs supporting critical facilities engineering across Data Center Operations.Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems for critical facilitiesDrive the development and implementation of operating policies, procedures and best practices, regularly updating them to reflect changing requirementsFacilitate global communication and knowledge-sharing among operations teams to drive continual improvement in operating policies and practicesEnsure that operating and maintenance decisions are informed by data-driven analysis and promptly communicated to all stakeholdersLead and execute global initiatives to maximize reliability, improve cost performance, enhance sustainability, and optimize operating modelsDevelop and oversee training programs for critical facilities engineers and managers, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to manage electrical systems effectivelyProvide expert guidance and decision-making within the Global Operations Engineering (GOE) team and collaborate with other relevant groups on electrical systems and issuesStay abreast of industry trends and collaborate with external data center industry consortiums to identify and implement new best practices for enhancing operating performanceRepresent Equinix by participating in and presenting at industry conferences, boards, and consortiumsQualificationsProven years of professional experience preferred in electrical engineering program ownership including aspects of design, operating practices, repair and maintenance, and training focusing on data center or mission-critical power delivery systemsCertification in process/program management or equivalent is preferredExpertise in critical power and electrical distribution, industrial control solutions, and standard operating proceduresStrong critical facility engineering knowledge, including hands-on experience in managing or operating a facilityTechnical proficiency in critical power and cooling systems, life safety, and environmental complianceExperience in technical writing, including the development of policies and proceduresExcellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences, including senior leadershipAbility to work autonomously on projects and initiatives, identifying and solving problems effectivelyAvailability to participate in meetings across multiple time zones and willingness to travel as needed and be on-callEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability. If you are a qualified candidate and need assistance or an accommodation, please let us know by completing .Equinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
