Job title: Principal Engineer – Electrical Engineering (Power)\n\nLocation: Coventry. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.\n\nSalary: Competitive\n\nWhat you’ll be doing: \n\nDesign and develop solutions to a range of common design situations/problems using NX\n\nUnderstand and apply a range of fundamental design processes, tools, systems and techniques\n\nDevelop and produce ways of working within NX to provide design intent\n\nWork as a member of a multi-functional team created to accomplish tasks (e.g. Capgemini, Siemens, IBM and SSNA)\n\nBegin to schedule own work to meet target time scales and budget demand using tools and techniques with guidance from their supervisor\n\nContinually seek ways to improve, processes, toolsets, systems, techniques and the generic workplace\n\nTake an active role in high risk and high complexity tasks with low-risk involvement, supported by the project leader or equivalent\n\nYour skills and experiences: \n\nBEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent and CEng (or be able to satisfy requirements for CEng)\n\nDemonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle\n\nUnderstanding of at least one of the following areas: Power system modelling; generators; switchgear; protection; power electronics\n\nIn depth understanding of Power System Architecture, Power and Distribution, Protection and Co-ordination or Power Earth Fault Monitoring\n\nExperience of working within a relevant Engineering role to industry codes and standards\n\nBenefits: \n\nYou’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.

The Principal Engineer shall act as team lead, managing the day-to-day activities of the team and the production of deliverables. The Principal Engineer shall be responsible for developing and maintaining the competency and skills of the team, project plan and schedule project activities, while managing the resolution of any related issues.
