Principal Marine Design Engineer - Stage 1

As a Principal Marine Design Engineer - Stage 1, every day at Expleo will be out of the ordinary and will require you to be dynamic and responsive to changes in technology, innovation, and client requirements. You will have the opportunity to get involved in concept sub-surface vessel design, complex engineering design & analysis tasks, the creation of new & innovative tools & processes, the delivery of engineering consultancy services, and the development of solutions & other emerging technologies across a wide range of global maritime programmes.



Engage on building teams and provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both effective working and personal development. Provide mentoring support, guidance and leadership and enable opportunities for the Marine Design Engineering capability to grow and develop skills, knowledge and experience to further enhance our provision of technical services.

Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.

Keep up to date in relevant technical areas, develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide more effective services (seeking and sharing good practice and knowledge to continuously improve practices), and supply technical support and expertise to others as required.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to successfully discharge the role.



Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Marine Technology, Naval Engineering), or equivalent experience in the naval and commercial ship design, construction, or maintenance domain.

Professional member of a relevant engineering institution (RINA, IMarEST, IMechE).

Recognised as a Chartered Engineer by the UK Engineering Council (or an ability to achieve within 6 months)
