Principal Piping Designer

Job Description

On the back of multiple successes within our growing Major Projects division, we currently have an opportunity for Principal Piping Designer, to join us, in our Renfrew office.

As the Principal Piping Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the physical layout and design aspects of complex piping systems across a diverse range of industries such as Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, and Oil & Gas. Your creativity and expertise will directly influence both Greenfield and Brownfield projects, ensuring that designs are not only efficient but also compliant with industry standards. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, leadership abilities, industry design orthodoxy, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.

You will lead the conceptualisation and 3D modelling of complex piping systems using design software such as AutoCAD, SP3D, or PDMS, while having the responsibility of create detailed design documents, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometrics, and layout drawings, to support engineering and construction teams.

Backed by a Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in piping design, preferably within the targeted industries, our new Principal Piping designer will engage with multiple engineering disciplines such as mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and civil-structural engineering to ensure seamless project execution
