Principal Process Engineer
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Principal level Process Engineer with a background in Nuclear on a long-term contract basis, to be working remotely but willing to attend sites/offices in the Warrington, Preston or Cumbria.
Overview:
Responsible for the delivery of identified Process Engineering requirements across one or more projects.
Responsible for the oversee of Process Engineering requirements on small/low to medium complexity projects, supervised by a Principal Process Engineer
Delivering project requirements individually or as a leader of a team. Responsibilities
Responsible for the development of Process drawings: Process Flow Diagrams and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams/Engineering Flow Diagrams.
Production of calculations including mass, energy and flow balances, pipe and equipment sizing utilising MS Excel, MathCAD, Pipenet, Aspen Custom Modeler or other software as required.
Checking of others work ensuring that design deliverables are produced to a high standard and compliant with all relevant ******al and client procedures.
Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operations and decommissioning phases of a project and ensure that the Design Intent is maintained.
Produce and check CDM Risk Registers
Produce and check documentation required for Technical Files of new products / plant and equipment.
Presentation of technical solutions to clients and others in both formal and informal settings, allowing for a broad range of technical knowledge in any audience.
Present technical solutions at design reviews and HAZOPs
Support in the development of project safety case including HAZID and HAZOP attendance, production of basis of safety documents (Hazard Man******ment Strategy) and engineering substantiation (design/engineering justification).
Develop estimates, deliverables required and programme logic at bid/tender st******. Whilst also providing input in to cost to complete.
Man****** a team of engineers/designers to deliver the engineering scope as required by the project.
Mentor a team of engineers/designers to improve their own skill sets and enhance the company's capabilities,
Develop and man******/maintain good working relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organisations
Producing and assessing concessions and technical queries.
Preparing and reviewing quality plans for single discipline work pack******s.Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or associated discipline ******
Chartered Member of the IChemE (******)
Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied including (but not limited to) Pressure Equipment Regulations, COMAH, COSHH, DSEAR etc.
Proven knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques of process design.
Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
