Principal Security & ICT Infrastructure Design Engineer\n\nAn expanding international M&E consultancy is seeking a Principal Security & ICT Infrastructure Design Engineer to support the growth of its data centre and critical infrastructure design team. With a strong focus on low-energy design, this consultancy enables the digital infrastructure and built environment transformation, supporting clients in delivering zero-carbon targets across the full lifecycle of their projects.\n\nThis role offers the opportunity to work across major projects in the UK and internationally, with flexible location options and hybrid working available.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * \n\n Lead the production of Security & ICT infrastructure design packages: written reports, drawings, schematics, technical specs, procurement packs, etc.\n\n * \n\n Manage major project deliverables and coordinate design activities across engineering disciplines.\n\n * \n\n Conduct Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessments for client projects.\n\n * \n\n Interpret client requirements and advise on security planning strategy.\n\n * \n\n Design CCTV systems (including FoV planning, analytics, software planning) and access control systems (including biometrics).\n\n * \n\n Stay informed of evolving trends in the security and ICT infrastructure market.\n\n * \n\n Perform feasibility studies, cost diagnostics, and support in preparing proposals.\n\n * \n\n Represent the business in technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.\n\n * \n\n Support delivery through project management, technical review, and quality assurance processes.\n\n * \n\n Collaborate with the BIM department to develop 2D CAD drawings and 3D Revit models, with a focus on coordination and clash detection.\n\n * \n\n Ensure all outputs meet relevant standards, regulations, and client expectations.\n\nQualifications:\n\nEither a degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 2+ years of experience\n\nOr HNC/HND/CNIDP with 4+ years of relevant industry experience\n\nRelevant Experience:\n\nSecurity & ICT design for data centres or commercial building construction\n\nStructured cabling systems, fibre optic networks, LAN/Wi-Fi networks\n\nAccess control and CCTV systems (including analytics)\n\nExperience in one or more of the following:\n\n * ICT consulting\n\n * \n\n Network systems integration\n\n * \n\n Data cabling contractors/manufacturers\n\n * \n\n IT infrastructure vendors\n\nDesirable:\n\nHyperscale Data Centre experience\n\nCCNA, CNet, BICSI or similar industry qualifications\n\nRevit and Navisworks familiarity\n\nStrong knowledge of UK building design standards and ICT certification frameworks\n\nConfident use of AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, and other design tools\n\nBIM process awareness and familiarity with Levels of Development (LoD)\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n23 days annual leave (rising with service)\n\nHoliday buy/sell scheme\n\nHybrid working\n\nCompany pension scheme\n\nPrivate healthcare options\n\nDiscretionary bonuses\n\nTraining sponsorship and career development support\n\nVolunteering and wellness days\n\nA supportive, collaborative environment with mentorship from industry leaders\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with a proactive attitude, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering industry-leading security and ICT infrastructure design.\n\nApply now to explore joining a forward-thinking team shaping the future of digital infrastructure
