Overview:
The Principal Static Equipment Engineer is responsible for preparing and managing all technical documentation related to static equipment requisitions, reviewing vendor bids, and leading technical evaluations specific to offshore static equipment.
The role also involves liaising with clients and vendors to ensure the equipment meets project specifications and industry standards.
This position is crucial for successful static equipment selection, procurement, and integration in offshore oil and gas projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare technical documentation for static equipment requisitions, such as Technical Supply Specifications and Mechanical Data Sheets.

Review and evaluate technical bids received from vendors for various types of static equipment.

Develop technical tabulations and provide detailed evaluations for static equipment submissions from vendors.

Lead technical meetings with clients and vendors, ensuring all project requirements are met.

Ensure that all static equipment design complies with the latest industry standards, including ASME VII Div. 1 and 2 for pressure vessels, scraper traps, electric heaters, plate and frame heat exchangers, tanks, and more.

Monitor and review the progress of static equipment procurement and fabrication, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.

Provide support and technical expertise to interdisciplinary teams throughout the design, procurement, and construction phases.

Keep updated on new technologies related to static equipment and ensure their integration into project designs when applicable.
Education:
-
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's Degree ).
Certifications / Specialization / IT Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards for static equipment design and procurement.
Experience:

Minimum of 14 years in a similar position within an EPC company, with a focus on the offshore oil and gas industry.
Technical Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge of static equipment in the upstream offshore industry, including pressure vessels (ASME VII Div. 1 & 2), scraper traps, electric heaters, plate and frame heat exchangers, tanks, and other related equipment.

Up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry technologies related to static equipment, with a proven track record in offshore EPC projects for clients such as Qatar Gas.
