Together, we’re the next BIG thing in data.Job DescriptionDevelop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.Create detailed production routings, including sequencing of operations, resource allocation, and time estimates.Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring smooth transition and successful production ramp-up.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure manufacturability of new products.Design and document work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process guidelines for manufacturing personnel.Conduct time and motion studies to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement.Implement corrective and preventive actions to address process deviations, non-conformities, and quality issues.Ensure compliance with security clearance requirements and adhere to relevant regulations and standards.Provide technical support and training to manufacturing personnel to ensure proper execution of production processes.QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in manufacturing process design and optimization, preferably in a highly regulated industry.Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and methodologies.Proficiency in developing work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address manufacturing challenges.Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Fluent English in both writing and speakingAdditional InformationWestern Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
