Process Engineer
SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB ASSIGNMENTStudy and implement systems / tools / procedures to optimize the production process and lead the continuous performance optimization team to achieve the set goals of the organization. MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES1. Address production / process bottlenecks for a better output or a greater stability. 2. Define instructions concerning process key parameter. 3. Define production conditions for new or modified installations under supervision of the Process Manager. 4. Conduct production process studies and audits which he deems necessary, or which are requested by the line management, with the possible assistance of Senior Process Engineer.5. Regularly monitor the parameters relating to plant operation.6. Liaise with the technical management for process issues and take part in the Plant Development Projects.7. Monitor and conduct tests when operating conditions are guaranteed stable and achieve minimal operator influence on process parameters.CONTEXT / OBJECTIVES Address problems on daily basis.Write a process study, exercise and audit report under the supervision of the senior process engineer. Regularly monitor the parameters relating to plant operations; set up / supervise regular follow up of various plant performance and condition.Define instructions concerning process key parameters; ensure the relevance of key parameters used to monitor the production process as well as process data. Give recommendations concerning modification to be made on various control parameters or on the process. Develop production process for a better output and stability; define production conditions for new or modified installations. Participate in the re-design of equipment; cooler, burner, pre-heater by-pass, fan, dust collector etc.Ensure reliability of process measuring equipment ( temperature, pressure sensors, gas analyzers, etc.) especially in area where physical measurement is not accessible or unsafe.Perform basic process measurements: gas flow / temperature / gas analysis etc. Organise and perform an audit limited to one area of a plant: gas / thermal / material balance of a kiln or a mill based on a pre-established model.PURPOSE Ensure that the summary of key parameters is used to drive performance towards continuous improvement. Ensuring that recommended modifications made on various control parameters and process inputs lead to improvement in: - Fuel consumption - Power consumption - Increased output - Ensuring that some process study leads to emission control so as to respect environmental law.
