Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary: Travis Credit Union’s (TCU) Process Engineer plays a vital role in optimizing and improving the efficiency, productivity, and overall performance of the Credit Union’s operations. The primary goal of this position is to analyze, measure, design, and lead implementation of process and technology improvements to ensure consistent, cost-effective operations that support our mission. The Process Engineer will be assigned a specific area of focus and will be responsible for driving improvements in that focus area as well as supporting improvements from other areas that impact the assigned area of focus. This role collaborates closely with teams throughout the organization, to identify areas of improvement, conduct quantitative analysis, develop innovative solutions, and drive operational excellence. Profile:
- Leads operational excellence program for assigned area of focus, including the assessment and on-going reporting of current operations and related technology, identification and prioritization of improvement efforts that best support the organization’s strategy and mission, and leading successful project execution and implementation.
- Serves as the point-person for the assigned area of focus on projects originating from elsewhere in the organization.
- Leads process mapping, root cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), time and motion studies, Kaizen, and other techniques from Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints as appropriate to achieve operational excellence goals.
- Contributes to setting financial and operational targets, metrics, testing, forecasting, risk assessment, and other measures that ensure accurate financial and operational results.
- Develops and maintains operational reporting to support leadership in the assigned area of focus and broader operational excellence initiatives.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis and provides actionable recommendations based on the analysis.
- Prepares or directs the preparation of complex operational presentations.
- Understands and executes business strategy and integrates the strategy with individual and team priorities and goals using fundamental strategic planning skills.
- Develops best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve efficiency and quality of output.
- Manages cost and time constraints. Creates process documentation and operating instructions.
- Creates and provides formal and informal trainings to support development of an operational excellence culture as well as building of specific project management and process improvement skills.

- Strong knowledge in process improvement, preferably in financial services.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including statistics.
- Excellent conceptual, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated well-rounded business acumen, including P&L analysis.
- Strong project and change management skills, with the ability to lead small to complex projects and implement successfully.
- Ability to provide leadership, support, and motivation to staff.
- Change management expertise for simple to complex initiatives, preferably with multi-site environments.
- Ability to translate complex data, processes, and concepts into easy-to-understand presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written, formal and informal).
- Advanced skills in MS Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
- Advanced statistics skills, preferably with Minitab or similar statistical software.
Reporting and Experience: Process Engineer:
- Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services operations, supply chain, or retail environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a process-engineering role utilizing Lean/Six Sigma.
- Green Belt certified in Lean/Six Sigma by an approved organization.
Sr. Process Engineer:
- Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in financial services operations, supply chain, or retail environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Black Belt certified in Lean/Six Sigma by an approved organization.
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature. May include travel to company locations in California. Compensation: Base salary starting range is commensurate with experience:
- Process Engineer: Grade 18 -$101,379.20/annually - $125,236.80/annually
- Sr. Process Engineer : Grade 20 -$120,993.60/annually - $149,448.00/annually
