Process engineer

Our client is a multinational company specialized in the production of fibre-based materials, including: specialized paper , industrial materials and packaging products. Its applications cover a wide range of industries, including: filtration, packaging , construction, automotive, electronics and healthcare. It is active in several industrial sectors and produces a wide range of specialized materials which are used in many different applications. The position of Process Engineer plays a crucial role in our company by overseeing the design, implementation, optimization, and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes. The Process Engineer is responsible for ensuring that efficiency, safety and quality standards are met throughout the production process and works closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and improve existing processes to enhance productivity and profitability. The resource we are looking for will operate on the Piedmont (Canavese) site for the release lines paper. Key Responsibilities: Process Design and Development: · Develop and design manufacturing processes for new products or modifications to existing products. · Conduct feasibility studies and collaborate with research and development teams to translate concepts into viable production processes. · Utilize engineering principles and software tools to simulate, model and optimize processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Process Optimization: · Continuously analyze and evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement in terms of safety, energy, quality, throughput and cost reduction. · Implement process improvements through the application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, process controls, and automation technologies. · Collaborate with production teams to streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks. Quality Assurance and Control: · Establish and maintain quality standards and specifications for processes and products. · Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer expectations. · Investigate and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action plans. Safety and Environmental Compliance: · Ensure processes comply with safety regulations, environmental and energy standards. · Identify potential hazards and implement safety protocols to minimize risks to personnel and the environment. · Participate in safety audits and inspections and provide recommendations for improvements. Documentation and Reporting: · Maintain accurate documentation of processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications. · Generate reports on process performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to track progress and communicate findings to stakeholders. · Provide technical support and training to operational teams regarding process-related matters. Project Management: · Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement projects. · Develop project plans, timelines and budgets ensuring timely completion of deliverables. · Coordinate with vendors, contractors and internal stakeholders to procure equipment and resources necessary for project implementation. · Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. · Proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment. · Strong knowledge of process simulation, modeling and optimization tools. · Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the industry (e.g., ISO, OSHA, EPA). · Proficiency in data analysis and statistical techniques. · Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. · Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams. · Project management experience is desirable. · Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant methodologies may be advantageous. · Creative thinking and technical capability to come up with new ideas. · Strong problem-solving skills. · Strong leadership skills. · Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint. · Excellent organizational skills. · End-To-End Process Understanding. · Fluency in Italian and English.
