Summit Anaheim currently has an open position for Planning Engineer (1st shift). Summit Interconnect is a manufacturer of advanced technology printed circuit boards with a specific focus on complex rigid and rigid-flex product with unique expertise in RF/Microwave applications.
Position Summary: Create and verify manufacturing documentation including work instructions and shop floor travelers. Review lay-ups, details and designs according to engineering and customer specifications through the use of computer and applications software. May specify required manufacturing machinery and test equipment based on manufacturing and/or customer requirements. Guides manufacturing process development for all products.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a minimum of five (5) years’ in the printed circuit board industry and must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately plan jobs and create shop floor travelers.
- Create documentation packages.
- Use company software for planning and issuing jobs.
- Contact customers to resolve open issues.
- Create TDR calculations.
- Assist in the training of new Planning Engineers.
- Review prints and purchase orders.
- Create stickups and order materials per print / spec.
- Plan jobs manufacturing process.
- Institute new manufacturing processes and or changes.
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the printed circuit board industry with three (3) years as a Planning Engineer.
- Must be able to cooperate and communicate effectively with customers, management and supervisory staff.
- Must be proficient in rigid, flex, rigid / flex and sequential lam designs.
