
Process Engineer for Bio-Methane Project H/F
Role Definition Responsibilities:As a Process Engineer, you will actively participate in the design, optimization, and standardization of bio-methane and biogas production processes. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and R&D teams to ensure the performance and efficiency of the facilities.Your main responsibilities will include:Analyzing and improving existing processes for standardization across multiple production sites.Designing and implementing new technical solutions to optimize energy yields and reduce environmental impact.Providing technical oversight from the design phase to commissioning.Contributing to the implementation of new technologies to maximize bio-methane and biogas production.Prepare Process Flow Diagrams,Equipment specifications, Process Descriptions and P&IDs for review and approvalConducting feasibility studies, process modeling, and participating in field tests.Supporting operational teams in the continuous improvement of industrial performance.Keep a breast of new legislations on plant design and performanceAbility to undertake design of biogas process systems and equipmentEnsure a high standard of safety is maintained and Environmental and Quality Assurance processes are followedProfile Sought: Engineering degree in process engineering, chemistry, or energy.An initial experience (internship or apprenticeship) in gas treatment, waste valorization, or renewable energy is a plus.Knowledge of simulation and process modeling tools.Analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team.Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas production, bio-methane, gas-fired power plant or renewable energy sectors.Expertise in managing process standardization, process engineering or optimization projects.Strong skills in team management and handling complex projects.Strong planning and organisational skillsAbility to drive change and implement technological innovation.Why Join Us?Be part of a company committed to energy transition and sustainable innovation.Participate in exciting projects with significant environmental impact.Opportunities for growth within a fast-growing organization.Collaborative and dynamic work environment. Qualification Process Engineering and ThermodynamicsUnderstanding of thermodynamic principles applied to energy and chemical systems.Mastery of mass and energy balances for process optimization.Knowledge of chemical and biochemical reaction kinetics (methanation, fermentation, etc.).Process Modeling and SimulationCompetence in using industrial process simulation software like Aspen Plus, ProSim, HYSYS, or MATLAB.Preparation of standard process documents such as PFDs/UFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, duty specs, CEDs, process narratives etc.Ability to model and optimize complex production systems, particularly in gas treatment.Gas and Effluent TreatmentKnowledge of biogas purification techniques (CO2, H2S, moisture) such as absorption, membrane, or adsorption.Experience with biogas and bio-methane compression, cooling, and storage techniques.Understanding of digestate and by-product management and valorization processes.Automation and Process ControlFamiliarity with automated control systems (SCADA, PLC/DCS).Understanding of regulation and control systems to ensure the efficiency and safety of installations.Industrial Process SafetyMastery of industrial safety standards (HAZOP, ATEX) related to handling flammable gases like biogas.Knowledge of integrated safety systems and risk management in an industrial environment.Industrial Project ManagementSkills in project management, including planning, budgeting, and coordinating various phases (studies, execution, commissioning).Anaerobic Fermentation Process ExpertiseDeep knowledge of anaerobic fermentation mechanisms, including managing influential parameters (pH, temperature, C/N ratio) and process stability.Understanding of reactor technologies (CSTR, UASB, etc.).Waste Treatment and ValorizationFamiliarity with waste and biomass valorization technologies (co-digestion, phase separation).Experience managing inputs for biogas production, including waste sorting and pre-treatment.Knowledge of Environmental Regulations and StandardsUnderstanding of regulations regarding atmospheric emissions, waste, and water management, as well as standards related to renewable energy and decarbonization.Excellent written and spoken English language Conditions Office Based PositionRemote Work up to 2 days per week Others informations Start date : ASAP Duration : Long term Type of contract: Permanent or Contractor Seniority level : Junior Engineer, Senior Engineer Type of project : Power plant Countries : France Location : Paris, Rennes et/ou Rouen
