Process Engineer Full-time

Our new Horsley Park site has installed a state-of-the-art high speed filling lines to enable faster production in manufacturing Household and Laundry care products with a capacity  to fill approximately 14,000 bottles per hour. Job Description Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for site process engineering, process safety, engineering projects, process development & improvement projects, and plant & machinery maintenance at our new Horsley Park site. In this highly visible role, you will oversee engineering and site projects through allocation of internal and external stakeholders as required and ensuring the quality of work. This position is responsible for overseeing the design improvement, construction, operation, and maintenance planning of equipment used in production and related areas as well as attending any breakdowns of machinery and treating them with matters of urgency. The key focus of the role is to support Safety, Quality, Production and Continuous Improvement utilising Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and WH&S to ensure products are produced to meet the required customer specification, are of a high-quality standard and are produced safely. Your key responsibilities will be to:  Develop manufacturing and production processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and conferring with equipment vendors when necessary Identify, plan, and implement key projects to expand process and product capabilities, improve quality, reduce waste, and increase productivity, utilisation & efficiency that will result in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction Monitor operations and equipment maintenance to maximise manufacturing and production efficiency by identifying and eliminating unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working Review plans for new products, conduct laboratory, line, and production trials to support validation runs, and to submit recommendations on design specifications, line and process modifications. Work with vendors and contractors to evaluate and ensure materials conform to specifications and are of acceptable quality. Analyse the risk of process failure, inspect and test plant machinery and equipment. Ensure Process Safety Management, through the integrity of operating systems and processes handling hazardous substances by applying good design principles, engineering, and operating practices. Analyse the risk of product failure, investigate, and evaluate materials that suits plant and customer standards. Support corrective actions and initiate preventive measures for any reoccurrence of non-conformities relating to process, system, and material. To be successful in this role, you’ll have:  Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Prior experience in process engineering at a chemical plant. Experience in understanding detailed P&ID drawings. Experience in Quality Management and working knowledge of Quality Management Systems Understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions Strong knowledge of Maintenance, Process, Production Engineering and Technical Services / Validation required. Familiarity with production LEAN process improvement Ability to respond to changing priorities. Ability to prepare budgets and control expenditures.
