Procurement Manager

Job Description

A newly created Procurement Manager available on a hybrid basis working with this global commercial business based in East London/ South Essex. Following significant investment in the procurement function, this role will support the Head of Procurement and offers huge opportunities for growth and career development. With defined succession planning in place within 18 months for the Head of Procurement, this role will suit a procurement professional looking to harness their experience gained to date in a progressive, supportive working culture.

Key areas of focus will include: developing and embedding the profile of procurement across the organisation; developing the contract authoring process for High and Medium Risk contracts; consolidate the supplier qualification process and approval of purchase requisitions process; translate project level procurement requirements and scopes of work into meaningful activities and workflows; ensure that the core elements of the supplier management program are clearly articulated in all supplier contracts; lead the Supplier Approval and review process; and help support and develop junior procurement team members.

To succeed in this role, you will have the ability to build, influence and sustain service led relationships with internal stakeholders; be adept at managing complexities and driving simplification and efficiency; able to negotiate the finer contracting elements with suppliers; and be able to deputise for the Head of Procurement when required. Demonstrable procurement and contract management experience is required aligned with the credibility and influencing skills to secure buy-in across a complex working environment.
