Title: Procurement Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Department: Purchasing
Pay Range: $92,000 to $125,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The Procurement Manager oversees the process of buying materials for the company. They optimize costs, negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, and ensure financial efficiency. They are responsible for mitigating risk while optimizing budget, alongside maintaining high quality standards and a competitive edge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing of materials used in the business
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors
- Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries
- Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production
- Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
- Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
- Supervising a purchasing team and delegating tasks across departments when necessary
- Working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable
- Other duties as assigned.
Required skills and qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Five or more years job-related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in procurement management, supply chain management, or other business related field
- Outstanding management skills
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in “reading” the market
- Superior talent in negotiations and networking
- Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines

Usually work indoors. Are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable on a weekly basis, when out on the production floor. May be exposed to chemicals and fumes when on the production floor. Will be required to wear PPE in designated areas.
