Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a talented Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sheffield. This role is perfect for someone who combines procurement experience with a solid understanding of engineering concepts and manufacturing processes. You’ll be a self-starter, ready to take ownership of your responsibilities, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across departments.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Place purchase orders aligned with stakeholder and business needs, focusing on OTIF demands and pricing obligations.\n\n * Manage vendor performance and relationships, ensuring integrity of systems, pricing, and nominated sources for MRP/ERP processes.\n\n * Provide updates on incoming deliveries to Operations and Planning teams, troubleshooting any discrepancies.\n\n * Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to enhance performance.\n\n * Compile and monitor key performance indicators such as OTIF and spend profiles.\n\n * Manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock holdings.\n\n * Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate supply-side inputs into design and ensure compliance with commercial standards.\n\n * Assess the market and onboard new vendor sources to mitigate obsolescence and support new product introduction (NPI).\n\n * Proactively review purchasing costs to identify and eliminate waste in processes.\n\n * Support facilities requirements through contract management and tendering.\n\n * Assist sales functions in developing and completing customer tenders.\n\n * Manage the supplier reject process alongside the Quality team, identifying root causes and corrective measures.\n\nKey Requirements:\n\n * 3-5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing within a manufacturing environment.\n\n * CIPS Level 4 qualification is desirable.\n\n * Relevant qualifications or experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing field.\n\n * Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is advantageous.\n\n * Intermediate Excel skills and knowledge of business systems.\n\n * Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.\n\n * Creative problem-solver with the ability to anticipate issues and take preemptive actions.\n\n * Capable of multitasking and working under pressure.\n\n * Team player committed to deadlines, with a strong work ethic and motivation to follow through on tasks.\n\n * Flexible, adaptable, and aligned with our core values.\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\nWe provide a competitive salary, 33 days of holiday (including bank holidays), access to healthcare and pension schemes, and a variety of benefits designed to support your growth and well-being.\n\nWe pride ourselves on our people-focused culture, offering a supportive environment where you can thrive.
