Position: Product/Custom Order Electrical Engineer
Location: Youngsville, NC
Role Overview:
The Product/Custom Order Engineer is a vital position responsible for designing and developing custom electrical products tailored to meet specific customer requirements. This role involves collaboration with sales, engineering, and production teams to produce detailed electrical designs, accurate quotes, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), and to offer technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:
- Design, test, and validate new electrical products.
- Generate detailed electrical designs and engineering drawings using CAD/CAE systems.
- Work with internal and external partners to enhance designs for manufacturability.

Documentation and Quality Assurance:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for designs, quotes, BOMs, and other related data.
- Perform quality checks and participate in design reviews to ensure design accuracy and reliability.

Continuous Improvement:
- Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost design and quoting efficiency.
Performance Metrics:
- Design Accuracy: Ensure designs meet customer specifications with minimal revisions.
- Quote Accuracy: Deliver accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects.
- BOM Management: Ensure timely and accurate updates of BOMs in the ERP system.
- Customer Satisfaction: Achieve high satisfaction levels and resolve inquiries promptly.
- Project Timeliness: Complete projects on schedule and within budget.
- Cost Control: Minimize discrepancies between estimated and actual project costs.
- Quality Assurance: Reduce design errors and customer complaints.
- Compliance: Adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in electrical power distribution design, specifically at 480V.
- Familiarity with 3-phase distribution systems, including breakers, transformers, and disconnects.
- Experience in electrical product design and collaboration with sales and customers on product development.
Must-Have:
- Experience with 480V power distribution.
- Electrical product design expertise.

Compensation:
- Salary: $75,000 to $120,000, with partial relocation assistance.
