We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Design Engineer to join our client's team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with a skilled team on a diverse range of applications, including robotics, military equipment, rail systems, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills (preferably Inventor and AutoCAD) and a proven track record in designing and optimizing electro-mechanical products for manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and schematics for control panels, junction boxes, cable assemblies, and other industrial products.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, client specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
- Collaborate with the team to refine concepts and translate them into manufacturable solutions.
- Technical Documentation
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and aligns with project timelines and requirements.
- Collaboration and Troubleshooting
- Partner with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to resolve design challenges and enhance manufacturability.
- Provide input on material selection, component specifications, and cost optimization strategies.
- Prototyping and Testing
- Support the prototyping process by developing test plans and evaluating prototype performance.
- Analyze results and implement improvements to ensure product reliability and functionality.
- Professional Growth
- Work on a variety of cutting-edge projects, including potential involvement in the development of innovative products such as STACC (getSTACC.com).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product design within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD; experience with other CAD tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Location: Elkridge, MD
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Salary: $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
