Product Development Engineer

Your new role As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the Product Development team. You will support the Product Development Account Manager in developing new products and continuously improving existing ones. Your proficiency in CAD will be essential as you create intricate patterns and designs that meet customer specifications. You will manage projects from start to finish, engaging with customers throughout the process and conducting First Article Inspections (FAIs) to ensure all specifications are met. What you'll need to succeed To excel in this role, you will need to build strong, effective customer relationships and fulfil their technical needs regarding New Product Introduction (NPI). You will be responsible for managing each project and reporting progress to the Product Development Manager. Handling customer requests for quotes (RFQ) and preparing quotations using bills of material (BOM) will be part of your duties. You should be able to read and understand technical drawings and develop them into working patterns. A working knowledge of the company's Quality Management System and processes is essential, along with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement. Your attention to detail will be crucial during FAIs, and you will attend FAI meetings with customers. Experience in aircraft seat cover dressing and supporting internal audits will be beneficial.
