Product Performance Engineer

About the Role

Our Kemsley Mill site is currently seeking a Product Performance Engineer, working within the Mill Technical department, and closely aligned with the mill operations teams.

With a continuous improvement mindset you will identify technical issues, getting to the root cause of the problem, and proactively recommend solutions that'll improve our overall product performance both internally and externally.

Building strong relationships with our customers you will work closely with them to identify and implement improvements and developments of our products.

Responsibilities include (but not limited):

  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products

  • Monitor, with quality analysis, the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential issues as early as possible

  • Identify the root cause of product related issues using lean/six sigma techniques and recommend solutions together with the operational teams.

  • Product trial coordination within the mill and if required, at customer sites.

  • Lead the handling of customer claim investigation and feedback with robust corrective measures.

  • The role will require a level of routine and non-routine product testing as part of existing and new product development.

About you

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on lean manufacturing would be beneficial

  • Ability to present and communicate effectively internally and externally, including customers

  • A diligent, punctual individual who can work collaboratively and deliver quality work with the required level of detail

  • Experience in using problem solving tools and techniques

  • Competent with Microsoft software applications and ability to learn new software e.g., quality data management and reporting systems

Location: Kemsley Mill, onsite - Monday to Friday - 09:00 - 17:00 (including a on call rota 1 week in 7)
