We are seeking a Product Support Engineer to support our Information Technology team.


This role is within the Production and Reliability Support Engineering (PaRSE) team within the CFC Technology Group. At a high level, the teams primary mission is to ensure our uptime and reliability of our business and customer facing production systems, specifically in software applications (both in-house products as well as vendor products). The team works closely with business stakeholders as well as internal resources to understand problems and provide sensible support and solutions.


The IT Product Support Engineer will be exposed to all facets of the business and be encouraged to learn and apply a deep level of technical skills both within and at times beyond your role. This position is a high velocity role that can take the chaos of handling high and low visibility application/software production events (communication, documentation, coordination and technical troubleshooting), and provide both restoral solutions that are sustainable and repeatable, while also providing more long-term stability solutions through deeper root cause analysis, collaboration with other team members as well as other expert teams within the CFC Technical family. As a senior technologist, this role will be working with an existing team that is highly collaborative, treats failures as learning opportunities and has a passion for working together to solve complex problems.


CFC offers a hybrid work schedule which includes three (3) core days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two (2) remote workdays (Monday and Friday)

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for work/ticket ingest, handling, communication and resolution.
  • Responsible for daily BAU activities as needed by stakeholder teams in information gathering, analysis, file transfers, report shipments.
  • Provides front-line communication during high severity events for internal or vendor related impacting events that affect system functionality or any widespread downtime for users and customers.
  • Interacts with product and engineering/support teams to manage best practices for maintaining operational runbooks, fostering best practices and recommending reliability solutions as fragility is identified.
  • Debug and root cause software/application/data/architectural issues, primarily housed in Microsoft stack technologies (C#/.NET and MSSQL) and AWS cloud services.
  • Identify areas of improvement for software applications to bring stability and reliability to products.
  • Scripting, application tooling and development to enable streamlining or efficiencies in otherwise manual processes.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex processes and software application problems.
  • Provide analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation for production issues as well as code deployment activities.
  • Learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies and apply these to a variety of projects as applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; or equivalent education/experience in a computer science field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role in supporting development/engineering, preferentially within ITIL or other formalized frameworks such as SCRUM, Agile, DevOps.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with programming and/or other .NET .
  • Experience with debugging and reverse engineering software applications (full stack).
  • Team cohesion and team mentoring abilities.
  • Experience with leading targeted documentation for process, procedures, and runbooks.
  • Knowledge of web API service concepts (RESTful, JSON, SOAP/XML).
  • Knowledge of SQL Server technologies and experience developing database applications.
  • Experience with CI/CD best practices OR experience deploying applications through automated build and release pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Git and best practices for maintaining Git source code repositories.
  • Experience analyzing and resolving technical issues.
  • Experience with web technologies, such as HTML, CSS and Javascript (SEO oriented support is a plus).
  • Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business.
  • Familiarity with code testing (unit tests, NUNIT/XUNIT), pipeline testing, and secure coding practices (OWASP Top-10) are a plus.
  • Experience with instrumenting application logging, monitoring and alerting.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and drive projects through to completion.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
