Talent Corps is looking for a Production Apprentice Operator for a client in the Grapevine area.

SHIFT:
2nd shift 2:00 pm- 10:30 pm

Starting pay is $19.00/HR.

A Production Apprentice Operator is a member of the Production Department operations team responsible for learning and training to perform tasks in producing and processing finished silicone chemicals. New operators must serve in an Apprentice role for a minimum of 6 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn to run plant equipment and processes in a safe and proper manner under the supervision of more experienced operators and supervisors.
• Qualify to run assigned plant equipment.
• Become familiar with all plant processes.
• Learn to weigh and record all raw materials, in-process and finished materials accurately.
• Follow all work instructions and SOPs explicitly, and sign off on each instruction.
• Unload mixers when a material has completed testing in the Lab.
• Clean all production equipment, tools, and work areas near equipment between batches and at the end of the shift.
• Comply with all company occupational health, safety and environmental legal requirements.
• Use personal protective equipment as assigned.
• Report all unsafe conditions, work related injury or illness to a member of leadership.
• Safely handle hazardous chemicals and waste according to company and legal requirements as assigned.
• Make recommendations for changes/improvements to ISO-9001 integrated management systems.
• Maintain good communication with fellow operators and supervisors to ensure all tasks operate efficiently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Preferred experience working in a CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING and production facility.
• Strong math skills
• Teamwork skills and ability to promote a positive work environment.
• Initiative and strong work ethic.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Safety-oriented and committed to following company safety and security procedures.

Work Environment
• Inside a manufacturing facility the noise level is usually loud.
• Near moving mechanical parts.
• Exposed to wet, humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Physical Demands
• Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Stand for 8 hours/day or more.
• Walk, sit, use hands, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell
