Production Engineer

We are seeking dedicated 2 x Production Engineer to provide technical support to our production operation. If you are a proactive and skilled engineer with a passion for optimising equipment performance, we want to hear from you. We have a role on the nightshift and one on rotating days.



Nightshift:

Salary: £41,556.07

Monday to Thursday 22:00 to 06:00, Friday 17:30 to 22:30



Rotating Days:

Salary: £37,984.85

Week One - Monday to Friday 06:00 to 13:30

Week Two - Monday to Thursday 13:30 to 22:00 and Friday 13:30 to 17:30



As a Production Engineer you will take ownership and be fully responsible for the availability and performance of production equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, effective maintenance, and continuous improvement.



Production Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Operational Efficiency:

* Ensure that set up, changeover, breakdown repair, and running adjustments are completed effectively and efficiently to maximize available operating time.

Effective Maintenance:

* Maintain equipment to maximize time available for production.

* Establish and deliver an inspection and maintenance program to maintain optimal 'As new' running condition.

Continuous Improvement:

* Ensure equipment operates in an increasingly efficient manner to maximise output.

* Play a leading role in the development and delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.



Production Engineer Role Accountabilities:

Minimise Changeover Time:

* Challenge current methods and develop new procedures.

* Train and develop the team to carry out changeovers efficiently and reliably.

* Make enhancements to the equipment to facilitate rapid changeover.

* Maintain accurate setting charts.

* Communicate with Team Leaders to prepare for changeovers effectively.

Breakdown:

* Attend to breakdowns rapidly.

* Communicate the likely duration of downtime with Team/Cell Leader.

* Call on assistance from other engineers, maintenance department, and equipment manufacturers as needed.

* Implement engineering improvements to eliminate root causes of repeat breakdowns.

Maintenance:

* Work with Engineering stores to establish and maintain stock of spares for all production equipment.

* Coordinate with Team Leaders to carry out maintenance with minimum disruption.

* Continually improve and develop the maintenance program.

Continuous Improvement:

* Conduct regular reviews with Team Leaders to formulate and progress plans for improved line performance.

* Initiate capital projects to improve or renew failing equipment.

New Equipment Introduction:

* Work with the line team and Project Engineering team on selection, procurement, validation, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.

* Support creation of DIs and setting charts for new equipment.

* Produce critical spares lists and establish suitable stock and supply of spares.

New Product Introduction:

* Ensure successful introduction of new products and components.

* Ensure timely purchase of appropriate change parts.

* Conduct documented line trials and support first production runs.

Quality/GMP:

* Ensure compliance with GMP guidelines.

* Maintain, review, and update departmental documentation and systems in compliance with MHRA and BSI requirements.



Production Engineer Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

* Mechanical Qualifications, may be apprentice trained with experience as an Engineer (Required)

* Multi-skilled recognized qualification NVQ Level 3 or task competent

* Excellent communication skills with other members of the Production Engineering team and wider Production teams.

* Ability to conduct oneself in a manner that supports the company's equal opportunities policy.
