This position is perfect for a time-served engineer with strong expertise in CAD/CAM, five-axis machining, and a thorough understanding of GD&T. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role focuses on optimising production processes, supporting CAD/CAM programming, and preparing to transition into a production control-focused position.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMaximise production efficiency and minimise waste.\n\nCreate and optimise CNC programs, with a focus on five-axis machining.\n\nCollaborate with the sales team to prepare quotations for new products.\n\nTrain and mentor the engineering team, supporting their development in production control.\n\nImprove setup times and ensure optimal machine utilisation.\n\nEvaluate bills of materials and oversee production documentation.\n\nChampion safety and quality best practices across all operations.\n\nKey Requirements\n\nRecognised engineering apprenticeship qualification (time-served).\n\nStrong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).\n\nExtensive knowledge of CAD/CAM, ideally FeatureCAM.\n\nExperience with five-axis machining is essential.\n\nExperience machining exotic materials is advantageous.\n\nAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.\n\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and an interest in transitioning into production control.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong CNC programming background who is ready to take on a broader role in production control.
