About the Opportunity:Sterling Engineering's 20+ year client, a leading manufacturer of US made custom thermal components is looking for a Maintenance Engineering Manager to join their organization. This is a stable company whom has been a leader in their market for over 50 years with a diverse book of business in all industries setting them up for stability and growth.
Job Duties:

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Continuously analyze, control, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Organize and balance production workflows to meet production schedules and on-time delivery targets.
  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks to streamline operations and reduce downtime.
  • Minimize work-in-process inventory and optimize lead times for cost and time efficiency.
  • Motivate, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous development.
  • Ensure the consistent production of high-quality components that meet industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to support product improvements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives to elevate performance across production processes.
  • Prepare regular reports on production status, identifying issues and solutions for senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering () or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team of 60-70 employees effectively.
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts such as Bill of Materials (BOM), costing, product design, and CAD.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, motivating teams to achieve production goals while fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and senior management.
