Production Planner

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our team! The Production Planner will be responsible for planning the manufacturing work centers production needs. We will look to you to create and coordinate the production schedule and coordinate the flow of work and materials between departments as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Provides ship dates for new sales orders by checking factory capacity, purchased part and manufactured part lead times while maintaining a level loaded production plan in all manufacturing work centers
- Plans manufacturing work centers to meet sales order deliverables utilizing Made2Manage and Microsoft Excel
- Plans RMA’s into the manufacturing process
- Performs job order maintenance for routing changes, alternate operation, alternate parts, and order closure (as appropriate) – reviews job order performance and identifies and resolves issues
- Maintains, reports and reacts to various metrics relating to planning, delivery and labor efficiency
- Oversees material changes to ensure proper phase in and out to minimize obsolescence and financial impact
- Creates POs and is responsible for outside services to meet the planned production schedule product (i.e. weld, silkscreen, punch, forming, machining, paint and plating)
- Participates in Engineering change process (ECO) and manage part and manufacturing changes to ensure changes are implemented properly
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in production planning, or scheduling function
- Strong knowledhe of ERP/MRP systems (Made2Manage a plus).
- Computer literacy applied to scheduling and data management with advanced proficiency using MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- Ability to prioritize, set objectives and manage projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to have the ability to communicate and work with others at all levels
- Ability to take multiple inputs and perform "what-if" planning
