Production Supervisor

Focused Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our clients manufacturing site in the Cardiff area.



The role will be effectively supervising and executing the department operations, whilst ensuring deliverables are aligned to monthly goals and targets. The position will also be ensuring the human material and resources are in order whilst also managing the production facility to ensure it is well kept and follows manufacturing guidelines.



Hours of work:



08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 13:00 Friday



Duties:



* Produce product as required by the manufacturing plan.



* Anticipate shortfalls in the plan and take appropriate measures to correct them, bringing all issues to the attention of the production man******r.



* Ensure product is manufactured to the correct specification



* Production Build documentation and manufacturing instructions and product quality is never compromised



* Create and maintain production work in progress monitoring records on a daily basis to measure throughput of product highlighting and identifying any shortfalls and performance issues.



* Organise the available production workforce and ensure optimum resource utilisation.



* Implement and follow the disciplinary/grievance policies and procedures making sure all employees are treated consistently and follow them.



* Carry out return to work interviews as necessary and monitor time, attendance and punctuality, ******ding this information back to employees. Monitor performance and carry out discussion forms where poor performance is identified.



* Carry out recruitment selection and on-boarding process ensuring the induction documentation of new employees is carried out, within the allocated time frame.



* Carry out annual performance appraisals for all assigned production employees making sure they are completed within the allotted time frame. Ensuring the meeting is motivational, encouraging good practices and empowering behaviour.



* Daily reporting to the Production Man******r on issues that are having a direct impact on production output.



* Ensure that all activities conform to Health and Safety regulation requirement



* Ensure production employees adhere to Health & Safety instructions following relevant policy at all times.



* Ensure the company Quality system/procedures are adhered to at all times.



Overview:



In order to be successful in this position you will be required to hold at least 3 years’ worth of experience as a supervisor with around 5 years’ experience within a production environment. The ability to man****** large teams of people and conduct all aspects of disciplinary/appraisal is essential with the ability to be IT literate. Previous experience of working with Quality Systems and MRP based systems are desirable along with the ability to be flexible, motivating and accurate
