Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor will work directly with our Production Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of paper straws. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality control, team development, and meeting production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing process.
- Monitor and maintain production schedules to meet or exceed customer demands and deadlines.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to maximize productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the finished product meets company and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues or equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, inventory levels, and production statistics.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of machinery and equipment, and coordinate maintenance when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, such as logistics and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
- Enforce workplace safety practices, including PPE requirements and proper handling of materials.
- Lead and assist in the recruitment and hiring of production team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelors degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field , but not required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, safety protocols, and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
- Ability to analyze production data and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends, as needed to meet production goals.
- Forklift certification and familiarity with warehouse management systems are a plus.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly
