Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor will work directly with our Production Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacturing of paper straws. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality control, team development, and meeting production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor and maintain production schedules to meet or exceed customer demands and deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to maximize productivity and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the finished product meets company and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues or equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports, inventory levels, and production statistics.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of machinery and equipment, and coordinate maintenance when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, such as logistics and quality control, to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
  • Enforce workplace safety practices, including PPE requirements and proper handling of materials.
  • Lead and assist in the recruitment and hiring of production team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelors degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field , but not required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a diverse team.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, safety protocols, and quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot production issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to analyze production data and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends, as needed to meet production goals.
  • Forklift certification and familiarity with warehouse management systems are a plus.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly
