JOB SUMMARY
The Production Support Engineer is the critical link between the manufacturing teams, physical product, and the wider Engineering organization, with direct responsibility for assuring translation of identified problems to engineered solutions. Using a broad foundation of engineering knowhow and practical ability, the Production Support Engineer is required to clearly define reported issues, carry out engineering investigations, and stipulate right-sized solutions to ensure timely closure of identified problems. Problem solving is at the core of this role, and associated communication with multi-disciplinary teams is a key requirement.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.)

- Serve as the point of contact for the engineering team for assigned internal customers, programs, and products.
- Manage problem reports and structure internal communication with daily cadence for assigned programs and products.
- Provide daily updates on status of problem resolution associated with products, programs, or sub-tasks.
- Working directly with Project Engineers, the Production Support Engineer will feedback to the appropriate functions within the wider Engineering organization through use of problem report data, associated analysis, and concise communication to ensure transfer of lessons learned, directly supporting continuous product improvement.
- Utilize known and prescribed analysis and problem-solving methodology to expedite problem resolution against tight timelines.
- Use Engineering knowledge to translate, define, and analyze problems into technical to be applied through change management.
- Execute defined changes by applying design, modelling, and drafting skills to assigned change tasks from Project Engineers.
- Manage time and priorities to ensure timely resolution of defined issues to meet internal and external demand.
- Communicate problem resolution verbally and in writing/presentations as appropriate to ensure broad understanding of outputs.
- Use product feedback from internal and external sources to support optimization of designs for manufacture and assembly.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers and communicate with the wider Engineering team to ensure correct levels of and oversight.
- Serve as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) on behalf of Engineering to disposition non-conforming products. .
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is required
Experience:
- 3+ years of related experience required, 2+ of those years in the aircraft industry
- The position requires a wide knowledge of Engineering, design principles, manufacturing techniques, and the constraints of change within an Aerospace environment.
Skills:
- System design - Ability to understand how smaller components can fit into larger systems of products and associated processes.
- Attention to detail - Ability to consider a myriad of details from the problem-solving and concept stages to the testing and modeling phases and ensuring that nothing critical gets lost in the process.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.?Ability to approach every problem and task with a calm and analytical mind and being able to solve all aspects of issues at reduced risk levels.
- Desire to learn – Ability to immerse in the specifics of the product design intent, staying updated on industry trends, while absorbing new technologies and engineering techniques.?
- Excellent communication skills - Ability to transfer information to members of the team, and being able to explain concepts at all levels, clearly, and concisely using appropriate methods.
- Planning and time management skills – Ability to quickly and dynamically identify priorities, plan activity accordingly, and manage time to ensure execution.
Skills/Experience:
- Microsoft Office proficiency (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Knowledge of related software including CATIA, AUTOCAD, and PLM
- Experience of applying formal root cause and corrective action methodology .

Salary Range Transparency: $90,000 - $110,000 annually
