What does the job involve?Responsible for monitoring, controlling and optimizing the production process of energy with a focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Work involves overseeing the operation of equipment, monitoring production levels, and minimizing waste. Conduct regular safety checks, maintain accurate records of production data, and diagnose production problems.

You are utilizing your knowledge in a specific area to carry out tasks that have a short-term operational impact/risk. You independently complete assigned work, either with guidance or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, in order to achieve targets set by others that have an impact on your immediate team. You effectively communicate facts, practices, and policies to individuals within your immediate team and occasionally with external parties. You adhere to established procedures, identify and resolve challenges, seek continuous improvement, embrace change and ambiguity, and demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working.​ You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.

FSU/FPSO experience but not essential.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Perform Safe Work-related roles as defined in Equinor procedures with emphasis on area responsibilities and Implementation of isolation/de-isolation, leak testing and safe return to service of plant equipment. 
  • Coordinate the implementation of plant preparation for maintenance as per operational procedures. 
  • Operate assigned production systems and carryout area responsibilities as defined in the Equinor Management system. 
  • Ensure a High level of awareness of Environmental compliance due to the nature of mariner oil. 
  • Assist and work with specialised vendors who visit the platform, ensure that all tasks are completed correctly and safely. 
  • Carry out Safety Critical tasks in accordance with defined performance standards for SECE, identify and raise failures through the SAP work process including close out with accurate history. 
  • Provide comprehensive records and logs, as well as ensuring that effective handovers are carried out. 
  • Carryout Emergency Response duties as identified in Emergency Response Plan, or as directed by the OIM.

  • Experience working in an operational oil and gas engineering environment on or offshore. (FPSO or FSU experience desirable).
  • Control Room Operator experience may be advantageous but not essential.
  • Multi-disciplined qualifications in either mechanical, electrical, process, production, chemical of benefit.
  • The ability to handle responsibility and occasional high work-loads, and delivers high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks whilst ensuring safe and efficient operations. 
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and disciplines requiring good communication and interpersonal skills, developing trust, respect and team work within and out with own department. 
  • Current UK offshore survival qualification desirable for an ongoing 2/3 offshore rotation.  
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
