California Aeronautical University, located in Bakersfield, CA is seeking qualified applicants for a Program Director of Aeronautics for the California Aeronautical University School of Aeronautics. The successful candidate will support and help to continually develop and improve the aviation-related academic and FAA ground school courses in the Aeronautics program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Teaching 2-3 undergraduate/graduate courses in aviation each term.
- Advising and encouraging students leading towards graduation.
- Curriculum development as needed.
- Developing relationships with the aviation industry through outreach and professional service activities as necessary.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:- Broad understanding of the aviation industry, with specific experience in flight operations, flight safety, Safety Management Systems (SMS), airport/airline operations and management.
- Effective communication, organization, and administrative skills
- Work well under high pressure and constantly changing conditions
- Ability to multi-task, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner
- Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; third-party verification applications, Talon or other Flight Scheduling software
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics or other aviation-related discipline.
- A minimum of four-years of non-classroom related work within the aviation industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in an aviation-related field. CFI/CFII/AGI/IGI/MEI, prior experience as a 14 CFR 141 flight instructor
