California Aeronautical University, located in Bakersfield, CA is seeking qualified applicants for a Program Director of Aeronautics for the California Aeronautical University School of Aeronautics. The successful candidate will support and help to continually develop and improve the aviation-related academic and FAA ground school courses in the Aeronautics program.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  1. Teaching 2-3 undergraduate/graduate courses in aviation each term.
  2. Advising and encouraging students leading towards graduation.
  3. Curriculum development as needed.
  4. Developing relationships with the aviation industry through outreach and professional service activities as necessary.
    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Broad understanding of the aviation industry, with specific experience in flight operations, flight safety, Safety Management Systems (SMS), airport/airline operations and management.
    2. Effective communication, organization, and administrative skills
    3. Work well under high pressure and constantly changing conditions
    4. Ability to multi-task, collect information, analyze data, define challenges, set priorities, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner
  5. Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; third-party verification applications, Talon or other Flight Scheduling software

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics or other aviation-related discipline.
  • A minimum of four-years of non-classroom related work within the aviation industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in an aviation-related field. CFI/CFII/AGI/IGI/MEI, prior experience as a 14 CFR 141 flight instructor
