Job Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing an entire program and all subsequent internal projects. They will be driving cross-functional collaboration and will ensure successful execution aligned with business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of materials science, engineering, and supply chain management. The Program Manager works closely with product development teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of department supervisors as assigned.
- Ensures supervisors manage their departments efficiently and in accordance with departmental goals.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and tracks project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Develops mitigation strategies to address risks and minimize impact on program timelines and costs.
- Provides regular status updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve materials processes and methodologies.
- Implements best practices and lessons learned from previous programs to optimize future material management efforts.
- Project Coordination: Manages timelines, budgets, risks, and resources across projects, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Acts as the primary point of contact between teams, executives, clients, and other key stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identifies potential risks, develops mitigation strategies, and resolves issues to keep projects on track.
- Team Leadership: Supports project managers and teams in achieving milestones, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency in materials testing and evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and environmental regulations in materials selection.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field and/or equivalent experience .
- 5+ years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or program management, with a focus on materials selection and procurement.
- Experience with regulated utility industry materials experience .
- Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) .
- Knowledge of advanced software tools for material planning and management.
- Travel up to 20%
Working Conditions
This position offers a hybrid work environment, permitted remote work in conjunction with a partial in-company office work schedule to be determined by supervisor. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move about the inside and outside of the location to access office equipment, etc. The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a computer, copy machine, etc.
