Project Controls Analyst/Specialist IV

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Control Lead IV to take charge of cost and schedule management for multiple mid-to-large capital projects, with Total Installed Costs (TIC) of up to $100MM for one of our major Oil & Gas clients.



This is will take place in Houston, TX. 

1-year contract (possible to extend)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage an integrated cost and schedule system for multiple capital projects.
  • Oversee project costs by Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to identify variances and trends early.
  • Lead cost engineering activities, including cost control systems, trending, variance analysis, funding budgets, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Manage invoice processing and resolve IR/GR issues in collaboration with Procurement and Fixed Assets teams.
  • Plan and execute audits of critical commercial internal control systems to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate directly with contractors to establish rules of credit, reporting cadence, and cost/schedule updates.
  • Review contractor cost reporting, estimates, and forecasts for accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Advise the Project Manager on contractor reporting accuracy and identify non-conformances.
  • Assist with change management processes, ensuring seamless integration of scope changes.
  • Provide independent assessments, analyses, and actionable insights to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly project cost reports for stakeholders, including P66, JVs, and third parties.
  • Mentor and direct Project Controls Analysts to support the PMO organization effectively.
  • Support schedule development and forecasting outcomes.
  • Audit contractor progress reporting, forecasting, and incorporation of work scope changes.
  • Ensure contractor cost control plans meet compliance and procedural standards.
  • Maintain and update financial reports using SAP.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in project controls (cost & schedule) and contract compliance.
  • 5+ years of SAP experience.
  • Strong knowledge of budget development using WBS.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.
