Project Controls Engineer

Ours is a culture built over 50 years, and it’s the reason for our continued success.  Our Maintenance and Industrial Services division specialises in the planning, management and execution of maintenance, shutdowns and sustaining capital works.  Monadelphous has been a part of the Central Queensland community for over 15 years, providing vital jobs to locals and those who consider Gladstone home.  The Project Controls Engineer position is a local role which will see you working in the Gladstone Office with the occasional site visits, supporting the operations team. Key responsibilities include: • Provide project controls leadership and support to all projects/sites. • Develop the Project Controls function and processes. • Monitor and analyse financial performance of the project and make recommendations to enhance operational effectiveness and achieve agreed targets. • Participate in and/or coordinate assigned projects, focusing on execution and delivery from a financial perspective. • Ensure projects are delivered according to plan, within specified timeframes and budgets, supporting business objectives. • Manage budget and commercial requirements for projects/sites. • Seek to continuously improve the service delivery of the project controls function/team through the revision, development, and implementation of work processes. • Develop, maintain & review planning and scheduling documentation and identify risks and/or key issues to be considered. • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships. • Developing and managing schedules • Analyse schedule data and provide recommendations for schedule optimisation. • Communicate schedule updates and changes to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. • Assist in the development of project budgets and resource allocation plans. What you will bring • Tertiary Qualification in an Engineering discipline, or relative demonstrated experience. • Strong cost control experience (highly desirable). • 3 years’ experience working in Project Controls, preferably on resources projects. • Solid understanding of Project Planning and Project Performance. • Proficient user of MS Projects and/or Primavera P6. • Experience using cost management systems. • High attention to detail and accuracy in work produced. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Excellent time management skills and demonstrable experience achieving tight deadlines. • Proof of right to work in Australia.
