Project Controls Manager (m/f/d)

We are looking Germany-wide for a Project Controls Manager (m/f/d) The Project Controls Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining project estimating, scheduling, cost, and risk management processes, on assigned projects, that meet the quality and technical requirements of LyondellBasell’s Project Management Process (PMP). You will manage project controls disciplines to provide all data related to HSE, cost, and schedule performance to the project manager and project sponsor. Responsibilities & Accountabilities Function in a Project Controls Manager (PCM) role on one or more large projects. Responsible for establishing and maintaining project estimating, scheduling, cost, and risk management processes, that meet the quality and technical requirements of LyondellBasell’s Project Management Process (PMP) and applicable Project Controls Guidelines (PEWP). Prepares the Project Controls Plan based on the scope and execution strategy for each project. Develops/reviews schedules, estimates, and risk registers included in the Project Execution Plan (PEP). Ensures maintenance (including review and audit) of the estimating, cost, and scheduling processes and tools of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors; align with LyondellBasell requirements. Ensures that the cost estimates, schedules, man-hour budgets, scope changes, cost trends and budget revisions produced by contractors, subcontractors, and vendors are reviewed appropriately. Develops/reviews the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS). Works with the project teams and contractors to ensure compliance with WBS, CBS and work packaging requirements through appropriate segregation and coding. Analyzes project controls data to proactively identify problems and propose solutions. Member of Project Leadership Team advising and counseling Project Managers on controls related matters. Serves as the liaison between the project team and GP Project Controls organization and assists in benchmarking (internal and external) efforts. Ensures that all project controls data is collected and captured in the appropriate LyondellBasell systems (. PIMS). Qualifications You are an experienced project manager with the ability to successfully influence project teams. With your ability to surface conflicts and resolve them effectively, you are not afraid to push back on leadership when required to ensure successful project outcomes. You possess strong verbal and written communications skills and communicate effectively on various levels, within project teams, site organizations, and corporate departments. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or substantial relevant work experience Membership or certification from project management profession (. PMP) desirable 15+ years of Project Controls experience preferably in relation to petrochemical or refining industry Functional experience in the area of cost control, planning/scheduling, estimating and risk management Knowledge of contracting practices, project management practices, and financial system processes related to project management Familiar with Primavera P6, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), and SAP. Proficient using the Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Demonstrated management experience or the ability to successfully influence project teams Ability to surface conflicts and resolve them effectively. Ability to push back on leadership when required to ensure successful project outcomes Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively within project teams, site organizations, and corporate departments International project controls experience is a plus English required; knowledge of other languages (strong preference: Dutch or German) desirable What makes us attractive – your perspectives?
