Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Design Engineer with a solid background in mechanical design and low voltage systems. The ideal candidate will use their expertise in SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings for mechanical and electromechanical systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks software.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Apply knowledge of low voltage systems to integrate electrical components with mechanical designs, ensuring system compatibility and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and project management, to ensure successful project completion.
- Conduct design reviews, simulations, and testing to validate design performance and adherence to industry standards.
- Provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle, from prototyping to mass production.
- Troubleshoot design and production issues, offering practical solutions to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
- Maintain project timelines and ensure deliverables meet quality and safety requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline design processes and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with a focus on low voltage systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, and creating technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and apply engineering principles to real-world problems.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and related safety standards.
- Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Qualifications
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) using SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
- Previous experience working on low voltage or electromechanical systems.
