Project Development Manager (BESS)

I am partnered with a leading entity in UK & Europe's renewables sector & they are now hiring an experienced individual to joining their German Team as Project Development Manager. 



Position: Project Development Manager (BESS) - Germany

Responsibilities:

As a member of the German Development Team, you will play a crucial role in advancing our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the development of existing projects and initiating new solar PV and battery storage ventures, overseeing them until they are Ready-to-Build.
• Collaborating with local consultants and colleagues across different time zones and countries.
• Directing land searches in coordination with The Company's central site-finding team and local Head of Development.
• Conducting outreach to landowners and negotiating contracts.
• Liaising with grid operators to identify and secure grid connections.
• Engaging with local communities to facilitate project progress through permitting.
• Coordinating with planning offices for permitting processes.
• Supervising site surveys and project design work.
• Assisting in project sales processes, including Request for Proposals (RFPs) and off-take agreements.
• Staying updated on relevant regulations and policies impacting the renewable energy market.

Requirements:

• Fluent in German.
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Right to live and work in Germany.
• Valid driver's license and a home office setup.
• Willingness to travel within a designated region of Germany to meet stakeholders and represent The Company to local authorities.
• Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years in developing renewable energy projects or real estate developments in Germany.
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
• Excellent team-working and communication skills, with experience in remote collaboration.
• Effective problem-solving abilities with a knack for proposing innovative solutions.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in managing third-party contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Willingness to undertake occasional international travel, such as visits to The Company HQ in UK.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in negotiating land lease or purchase options.
• Knowledge of grid connection applications and negotiation with grid network operators.
• Familiarity with permitting processes (e.g., B-Plan).

Location and Compensation: This role offers the flexibility of remote work from anywhere in Germany, with occasional travel within the region and to the company headquarters in UK.
