Louise Fitzpatrick seeks applicants for the role of Project Director for the R01 Preventing Infections Through Appropriate Staffing Study ( PITAS ) grant. The Project Director will oversee the entire life cycle of the grant and associated research, educational endeavors, and special initiatives. The Project Director manages the development, planning, execution, tracking, and assessment of all project activities and directs programmatic operations, ensuring smooth daily functioning and effective communication. They cultivate a conducive business environment to uphold Villanova’s research, educational, and strategic objectives.Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. Duties and Responsibilities: Directs administrative support for all aspects of funded projects from planning, execution, monitoring, risk-management, and compliance with institutional review board protocols, research team meetings, study websites, information technology needs and other grant management tasks.Strategically communicates with funders, researchers, and other collaborators to identify and cultivate potential funding sources as well as other research opportunities and assists with grant submissions.Trains and supervises research staff in technical procedures, processes and methods, data collection, documentation, and management, and ensures maintenance of required research certifications.Supports conduct of research activities such as survey recruitment, qualitative interviews, data analysis. Supports PI in summarizing research findings into comprehensive reports for publications/presentations.Analyzes and monitors multiple grant budgets, resource allocation, tracks progress and prepares progress reports.Writes proposals to IRB (Internal Review Board) collaboratively with a PI (Principal Investigator) and submits changes as necessary.Directs the dissemination of effort including development of conference presentations and posters and manuscript publications.Identifies potential risks, assesses impact and develops mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and capitalizing on opportunities.Serves as the primary liaison for Villanova’s research administration for all grant-related administration needs.Performs other duties and assist with projects as assigned.Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Villanova University Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s DegreeAt least 5 years of experience in research and academic environments providing project and/or program management or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.Excellent project management skills including skills in communication, critical thinking, task management, and personal organizationExceptional organizational skillsStrong interpersonal communication skills are essentialDependability and attention to detailProblem solving skillsProficient in the use of a computer and various printers for business needsSoftware knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, Adobe Creative Suite, software for remote meetings (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), data management software (e.g. LabArchives, DropBox, Drive), Reference management tools (e.g. Covidence, EndNote), web management software (e. g. AEM ). Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the Bachelor’s Degree, PMP certificate or in the process of obtaining a PMP certificate preferred.Proven experience in all aspects of research development from inception to execution to dissemination preferred.Previous experience in a multi-faceted, project management position involving health services or clinical research strongly preferred.Previous experience with grant writing, pre/execution/post award.Leading strategic planning initiativesUnderstanding of quality standards and management of quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.Adaptability to change in dynamic project environmentCreative and innovative skillsetProject Management Software knowledge (e. g. Microsoft Project, JIRA , Wrike, Trello), Survey building tools (e. g. Qualtrics, RedCap), Program for qualitative and mixed-methods research (e.g. NVivo).The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative ( CITI Program) certification preferred.
