The key elements of the role are to lead rail projects, supported by our growing team of engineers, represent the company as a technical expert, contribute strongly to winning work and delivering projects safely, efficiently and effectively. The role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days office based.You will be responsible for projects, delivery, budgets, resourcing, planning and programming whilst also reviewing quality and leading the preparation of technical outputs, coordinating with other disciplines and represent the business internally and externally. Responsible directly to the Head of Department for the financial, technical and project management control of the civil engineering aspects of small to large projects.Actively contribute to work winning activities and project pipelineIdentify, develop and maintain relationships with main client contactsDirect/manage/approve complex high value proposalsTake commercial responsibility for projectsEnsure successful project delivery to time, cost, quality and other contractual requirementsWork with clients to understand ultimate objectives and desired outcomes for each projectEnsure overall client satisfaction targets are metMake presentations to clients, third parties and colleagues as appropriateLiaise with architects, clients and other professionals whilst carrying out duties and at all times represent the practice in a professional and courteous way.Make presentations to clients, third parties and colleagues as appropriateDelegate to, manage and direct Engineers and Technicians involved onResponsible for technical design quality on the projects they are managing.Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and be self-motivatedUndertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against specifications, and highlight issues to the contractor, client and/or (internal/external) project manager as necessaryDevelop and supervise junior Engineers in the teamLiaising with other construction professionals in the development of designs SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES Ideally 20+ years of experience within transportationExcellent communication skills to be capable of communicating effectively with colleagues and clients along with managing client expectations, and communications/relationships with external design teamsExcellent written skills along with the preparation of technical reports and fee proposals In depth knowledge of CMREA / CSM / CENELEC standardsKnowledge of the Canadian Railway System (including CMREA) would be an advantage PACKAGEAn excellent benefits package will be offered to the successful applicant which will include; Competitive SalaryBenefits - Medical, Dental, VisionVacation PayEligibility for a performance related bonus The hiring range for this position is between $240,000 - $300,000 Share manages this role Matchtech is a STEM Recruitment Specialist, with over 35 years’ experience
