Location: Belfast, NI, UK (hybrid working flexibility from Ireland/NI)
Contract: Permanent
Our client is an electric power transmission operator in Ireland, transforming the power system for future generations. Opportunities are now for Engineers to join our Infrastructure team and be part of their journey to deliver the transition of Ireland’s electricity sector to low – carbon, renewable energy.
As a Project Engineer with the Infrastructure Office you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself working with a highly collaborative team.
This is an exciting time for our client as they embark on a new strategy to deliver the solutions required to transform the power system in support of the transition to renewable energy.
Roles will suit individuals who are passionate about change and making a difference, are able to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and are experienced in stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:
Working as part of a talented, multidisciplinary, team you’ll be involved throughout the projects’ entire lifecycle, from concept and design, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to delivery and commissioning. You will also play a key role in the development of the project requiring innovative skills and front-end engineering design, programming and forecasting. You will be using new technologies and building new models in order to drive the change to green energy.
They need engineers from all engineering disciplines who can:
- innovate and deliver large scale capital high voltage electricity infrastructure projects
- implement project management skills to co-ordinate projects effectively
- prepare business cases, manage change, and identify risks and opportunities to enable the development of solutions
- support a range of technical and commercial projects designed to achieve regulated targets and meet stakeholder needs in line with company requirements
- understand the industry, environment and context with knowledge of the power system
Requirements:
- have an engineering degree & relevant experience
- have a keen interest in developing their infrastructure project delivery skills and experience at this exciting time for the Infrastructure Directorate which is undergoing a period of significant transformation and change
- enjoy solving complex problems in a fast paced, collegial environment
- bring excellent organisational skills and a strong track record of delivery and analysis, judgement and problem-solving abilities
- be able to make decisions and recommendations in a changing and dynamic environment
- demonstrate the ability to work well within a team together with flexibility in approach including the ability to work on your own initiative
- have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on high quality report writing and ability to communicate technical matters clearly and effectively.
