Project Engineer
Overview An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative projects team in the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects for our Global client. We are looking for a talented, results-driven Mechanical/Process Project Engineer with excellent project co-ordination and communication skills. Responsibilities Project identification with subsequent scope and business case development Manage Project Execution particularly overseeing contractors/venders from Health & Safety standpoint Lead the execution of capital projects ensuring best practices using engineering, regulatory & environmental standards Oversee the design, procurement, budgeting, installation, testing, factory acceptance testing, validation, commissioning and handover of new process equipment / safety upgrades to operations Participate in HAZOP studies Develop Change Control document for works/changes to commence on site Lead the project kickoff meeting with relevant project stakeholders (Process, electrical, automation & civil contractors) Lead the project constructability review meeting (i.e. scaffolding, MEWP, hot works, crane lifts etc) Approval of project schedule and monitoring timelines, critical path of project throughout the project lifecycle Manage snag lists, weld logs, test packs, test inspection plans, redline drawings, P&ID upgrades etc Approve technical submittals from contractor (Materials, equipment datasheets, tank drawings, Isometrics etc). Reviewing/approving method statements prior to issuing permit to work on site. (Cold works, hot works, working at height, confined space, red tag and LOTO) Lead weekly progress report meetings and the weekly safety review meeting. Qualifications 3rd level Engineering Degree (Chemical/ Process, Mechanical) Min 4 years engineering/ project management experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge and practical experience in using world class manufacturing, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and variation reduction techniques e.g. Six Sigma, DMAIC and FMEA tools Demonstrable experience of capital or project programme coordination managing multiple competing priorities to drive effective business outcomes within schedule and budgetary constraints whilst meeting & exceeding customer, quality and technical requirements Safety systems, project & construction safety, equipment and process hazard assessment (Experience in the Hazop process is desirable) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with and influence employees at all levels of the organisation Ability to lead and develop individuals and teams Experience of business case preparation and basic financial analysis tools Experience of managing suppliers to achieve on-time and on-cost performance Demonstrate project leadership, interpersonal skills and effective communication.
