Project Engineer

The Company is currently seeking Project Engineers to join the Project to support the front-end engineering design, procurement planning and tendering of a Propane Dehydrogenation Plant, two Polypropylene units, and an OSBL package inclusive of site utilities, pipelines, logistical facilities, and polymer warehousing. Company is seeking one project engineer for each of three process areas. The Project Engineer is responsible for assuring design and engineering result in safe, reliable operations and the constructed facilities and equipment meet business unit, operations, process safety, maintenance, and environmental requirements. The Project Engineer will actively participate in FEED development and tendering with potential to continue into the phase of the project. The role requires collaboration with internal PMT and PMC stakeholders, the FEED contractor, and external stakeholders to identify gaps, develop solutions, provide expert feedback, develop procedures, and produce a capital efficient facility. Your Tasks Design development, procurement, and construction planning, and potentially all comparable execution efforts s the project be approved for construction. Evaluate project technical viability by reviewing design outputs of contractor and vendors associated with critical equipment such as the Reactors, Columns, Compressors, Extruders, specialized packages, and other key equipment components. Compliance with contract requirements by monitoring and reporting progress and assisting in outstanding action item closures. Implement all operations and maintenance requirements and incorporate into the overall plant design. Review and approve requisitions for inquiry and purchase of equipment. Participate in kickoff meetings with critical vendors to establish alignment on design specifications. Evaluate factory and site acceptance tests to ensure fabrication and testing procedures meet the design and performance expectations. Participate and coordinate specialist participation for equipment inspections at vendor shop for major equipment after procurement. Engage with company or outside subject matter experts (SMEs) when needed to evaluate all technically related issues supporting the design, fabrication, and installation of all equipment in their license area. Coordinate and interface with external stakeholders when directed by the Lead Project Engineer or Supervisor. Manage, coordinate, and consolidate responses to queries, clarifications, and document reviews from . Provide design and engineering input and recommendations considering safety, environmental, capital costs, operability, maintainability, and reliability to support proper selection of equipment. Coordinate with other disciplines (Instrumentations, electrical, civil, etc.) where cross functional support is required to address design and operability. Liaison with and provide input to PDH, PP, Utilities and Offsites team counterparts and external party personnel where interfaces occur. Provide support for process hazard analysis (PHA) reviews and subsequent 3D model reviews during FEED and subsequent EPC development. Ensure timely, high-quality contractor, subcontractor, and vendor deliverables supplied will support the development of +/-10% TIC estimate. Advise project management team on developments that could negatively impact safety, quality, cost, and schedule. Coordinate Company review of Management of Changes (MOC) and PHA Action Requests during all phases of development. Support Plant Operations in the commissioning and start-up of the units after construction and pre-commissioning. Your Profile Bachelor's degree or above in engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience Demonstrated mega project experience working with various contractors preferred. Experience in Olefins or Polyolefin Unit design, engineering, and construction preferred. Excellent leadership and team building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Must have good trouble-shooting abilities. Must be an initiative-taker with desire to lead and take responsibility. Must have strong commitment to personnel and process safety. Must have knowledge of Industry Standards (ASME, API, CII) and Company Standards. Must have ability to collaborate with company employees, contract employees, contractors, consultants, and external entities of various backgrounds and cultures. Commitment and flexibility to work in the engineering office in Doha and visit site when required. Commitment to relocate to engineering office and construction site in Qatar. Commitment to support on the project through start-up activities. Previous HAZOP/LOPA experience 'Grass roots' major capital project experience Chemical or rotating equipment engineering background Experience working with FEED/EPC contractor(s) Experience working in the Middle East and RLIC specifically. Experience in PDH or PP Unit operation and/or projects. Language abilities beyond English (Spanish, Arabic, Hindi) could be a plus.
