Project Engineer

Role OverviewExpectation from the Position as a “Project Engineer” are as follow: Project engineer to identify number of projects from various departments like operation and maintenance with clear understanding of purpose/ expenditure/ significance/ current arrangement and proposed scheme stating categories like: Reliability improvement,Returnable project,Environment compliance,Safety compliance,Production Improvement,Quality Improvement, Prepare project statement, business case, management approval notes including, project cost, project schedule, expectation, broad technical scope and SWOT analysis.To prepare, taking consensus of user dept on purpose /scope of work / broad technical specification, cost estimation and execution schedule etc. Project Management: To prepare RFQ and invite price quote from vendors, closing open points after meeting and discussion with vendors, making technical evaluation report on offers received and purchase recommendations, ensuring that project objectives are met.Arrange to release purchase order, site preparation, prepare project schedule, discuss and finalize project QAP with successful vendor, deciding & agreeing project milestone with vendor.Project kick off, communicate / educate contractors on contract safety & health management, environment management of the company.Making weekly project progress / update to managers/ discuss obstacles on progress and mitigation plan, highlight cost saving opportunities and ensure project execution within approved budget and timelines with quality. Maintain open communication on subcontractors works with team and manager to recognize their work performance in time with notifications.Meeting compliance and engineering code of practices as per province laws and factory laws or applicable statuary body’s regulations. Team Working: Coordination of project activities with various departments for getting inputs and sharing project progress.Respect all team members and their opinion and evaluate viewpoint of team members with logical approach and convert into decision making with mutual agreement.Project progress communication at regular interval to all team members, challenges and its mitigation plan, open to receive suggestion/ advises / solution on the problems. Project Closure: Make sure about area cleaning after completion of the project. All the scrape and surplus good material around the project site brought in the place shall be moved to designated location in the premises. Performs pre-punch list of activities by walk thru around the project area and notifies contractors to complete the punch list within timelines. Collecting all close out document of the project and submit / preserve into the project assigned code. Capture project achievement, compare with expectations, gap analysis, record strength and opportunities to improve in future as learning.Financial of the project closure and handover to operation with drawings/ documents/ operation and maintenance manuals/ training if any. Experience and Qualification: The candidate must have 8-10+ years of experience working in Project Engineer.Working knowledge in Pulp Mill will be preferred. Experience in design and visualizations software like AutoCAD will be an asset.Knowledge of industry rules٫ regulations٫ best practices and performance standards.Working experience with multiple discipline projects.Strong project management and supervision skills.Good practical experience with MS Office skills.He must be mechanical graduate engineer / Diploma engineer.Professional Engineers and Project Management Professional certification will be added advantage.
