Project Engineer

Brandt is currently seeking a Project Engineer for our Regina, Saskatchewan location.  This position  is responsible for providing engineering and project management services for the development and production of products and projects undertaken by the Brandt Group of Companies.   Duties & Responsibilities • Participating in meetings with customers to determine their needs. • Designing and engineering systems, machines and devices which meet customers’ needs and which, when produced, comply with sound engineering practices and standards. • Sourcing components required for your projects. • Producing CAD drawings, or directing draftsmen to produce drawings, that enable customers and Brandt staff to understand all facets of such systems, machines and devices. • Creating, or directing draftsmen to create, Bills of Materials pertaining to your projects. • Checking CAD drawings produced by draftsmen to ensure their correctness, thoroughness and compliance with BEP drawing standards. • Directing the Purchasing Manager to procure all materials and components pertaining to your projects. • Monitoring the progress of your projects to ensure that production is on schedule,  quality is up to standard and the product meets your expectations. • Working with the Applications Engineer, meets with customers to determine project/product requirements and equipment specifications. • Coordinates the activities of all engineering staff assigned to the project and ensures engineering project schedules are met. • Ensures designs meet reliability, costing and are easily manufacturable. • Coordinates the release of technical information to manufacturing and ensures that data and drawings are accurate and correct. • Visits customers as required to commission and ensure that equipment is operating to customer requirements and expectations. • Works with Customer support to ensure that all field issues are promptly dealt with, technical product literature is issued on time. #LI-onsite Required Skills • Meticulous, with an attention to detail; Strong mechanical background with experience of the latest 3D design software. • At least 5 years of machine/equipment design experience. • A diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills. • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability. • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines. • Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and able to lead by example.
