About the Role / Are you up for the challenge? As a Track Project Engineer on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing track earthworks, track drainage and track scope across a number of our eight B2A T2 sites (Benalla, Euroa, Seymour, Tallarook, Hamilton, Short, Marchbanks and Wandong). Your expertise and guidance will contribute to the successful delivery of our projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, engineering team, and other stakeholders to coordinate and oversee every aspect of the project, from start to finish. Your contribution to the successful delivery of this project will demonstrate a high level of expertise and adaptability, making it a noteworthy accomplishment in your professional portfolio, owing to its intricate staging set within a developed, brownfield site. Additionally, the project's complexity is heightened by the necessity to coordinate operations within the territories of two distinct rail operators (ARTC and V/Line).  The role is primarily based out of our main office in Docklands. However, it also will involve travel to various construction sites to ensure that project deliverables are achieved.  Project Description Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.  The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.  Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla. Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do; Lead the engineering and design aspects of the rail infrastructure components within the B2A T2 project, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the integration of rail track systems within the overall project design. Manage the construction of rail infrastructure, overseeing contractors and ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Apply innovative solutions to overcome engineering challenges and enhance the efficiency of rail operations within the terminal. Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, clients, and community groups, to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations. Implement sustainable engineering practices to minimize environmental impact in line with John Holland's commitment to environmental stewardship. Drive the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies to set new benchmarks in rail infrastructure development. To be successful in this key role, we are looking for; A degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, coupled with extensive experience in rail infrastructure projects. A proven track record of leading rail construction and engineering teams in large-scale, complex projects. Strong technical knowledge of rail systems, standards, and compliance requirements. Exceptional project management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage resources effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for stakeholder engagement and negotiation. A forward-thinking mindset, with a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
