Project Engineer
Responsibilities:
Analyze scope of work, contract drawings, and specifications to create detailed plans for the installation of Building Automation and Energy Management Systems in biotechnology and life sciences facilities.
Gather all technical information to develop comprehensive drawings and other necessary documents for submission.
Collaborate with the project team to plan, schedule, and prioritize tasks effectively. Work closely with engineering support staff to develop control system drawings, equipment schedules, control sequences, floor plans, and graphics.
Design and develop the system database, custom programs, and graphics to meet the specific design intent for biotechnology and life sciences environments.
Assist the commissioning and installation team to ensure proper installation and optimal performance of the systems.
Coordinate with the commissioning/installation team to document any field changes and compile project closeout documents.
Archive all project documents per company standards upon project completion.
Liaise with contractors and equipment suppliers to develop an integrated Energy Management and Control System design specifically suited for biotechnology and life sciences facilities.
Requirements
Extensive knowledge of various electronic or digital controls systems, specifically within biotechnology and life sciences settings.
Minimum of five years servicing electronic controls and HVAC equipment, with a focus on Schneider Electric controls.
Effective interpersonal skills to professionally represent the company to customers and external contacts.
Proven experience in writing and a strong understanding of computer programs and software applications related to the HVAC industry.
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including sequences of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals, and specifications.
In-depth knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and their use, specifically in biotechnology and life sciences buildings. Proficiency in HVAC system control applications and control system hardware and software products.
Familiarity with standard building automation system communication network protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LON.
Over five years of experience in complex Energy Management and Control System design, with a particular focus on biotechnology and life sciences applications.
Salary Range: $48-$60/hr. DOE.
