Project Engineer– Groundworks - London
AA Euro Group are working with leading groundworks contractor specializing in civil engineering, earthworks, and foundation construction. With a reputation for excellence in delivering complex groundwork projects on time and within budget, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team in London.
As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering groundworks projects from inception through to completion. You will be responsible for technical aspects of the project, ensuring that work is completed to specification, on time, and within budget, while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
Assist in the development of project plans and construction methodologies.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to establish schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
Site Management:
Oversee daily operations and ensure site activities are executed in accordance with project plans.
Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless workflow.
Manage technical queries and resolve issues on-site in a timely manner.
Technical Support:
Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and documentation.
Provide technical guidance to site teams on construction techniques and processes.
Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Health & Safety:
Promote a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations.
Ensure risk assessments and method statements are followed by all personnel.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, material logs, and as-built records.
Liaise with the client, design teams, and subcontractors to provide progress updates.
Quality Control:
Implement and oversee quality assurance procedures to ensure high standards of work.
Identify potential design issues and suggest engineering solutions to avoid delays.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional membership (e.g., ICE, CIOB) is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in civil engineering or groundworks.
Proven experience working on groundworks projects, including excavation, drainage, and foundations.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
